Artist Bio: Paul Davis
After a career of designing machinery and illustrating manuals, drawing and painting was a natural transition to the world of art. I’ve been fortunate to have had direction from some great art teachers. Their direction has enabled me to paint pleasing paintings with a degree of confidence. Two teachers stand out, Fredrick Wong and Cheng- Khee Chee who instilled in me the beauty of eastern style watercolors. Their techniques provide a freedom of expression not accessible in western watercolor painting. Their influence appears in many of my paintings. Our home surroundings provide abundant inspiration. Above or below the water, in or near the woods and marshes, early or late in the day, in summer or covered with snow,....inspiration is pulling me to the challenge of that next interesting scene.
